Joost Meyboom is a Senior Director at Charter, bringing over 30 years of global experience in the planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation and civil infrastructure projects. A professional engineer with a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich and a Master’s from the University of Toronto, Joost is recognized as one of Canada’s leading technical authorities on large-scale bridge and tunnel developments.
Joost has served as Technical Director or Strategic Advisor on some of British Columbia’s most high-profile infrastructure programs, including the $4.2B Fraser River Tunnel Project, the $1.4B Pattullo Bridge Replacement, and the $3.5B George Massey Tunnel Replacement. His expertise spans all stages of project development—from feasibility studies and business case development to procurement strategy, reference concept design, and construction oversight.
With a career that includes international design competitions and work across Europe, Asia, and North America, Joost has contributed to the realization of iconic structures such as cable-stayed bridges, segmental post-tensioned concrete bridges, movable bridges, and immersed tube tunnels. His leadership combines deep technical knowledge with strategic foresight, helping clients align complex engineering requirements with real-world constructability and risk management.
